U.S. AMBASSADOR TO SWEDEN
Ambassador Erik D. Ramanathan became U.S. Ambassador to the Kingdom of Sweden on January 20, 2022. Previously, he served as Chairman of the Board of Heluna Health, a trailblazing public health non-profit serving more than 80 million Americans with over 500 programs addressing population health and community resilience issues, including maternal and child health, nutrition, literacy, supportive housing, infectious disease, addiction, and front-line and supportive efforts to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. He was previously Executive Director of the Harvard Law School Center on the Legal Profession, the world’s leading research program and think tank on the evolving legal profession, and Board Chair at Immigration Equality, the national legal services and advocacy organization for LGBTQ+ and HIV+ immigrants and asylees.

Jason Channell is Managing Director and Head of Sustainable Finance within Citi’s Global Insights division, providing thought leadership to the full breadth of Citi’s client base. Having previously worked at Fidelity Investments and Goldman Sachs, he joined Citi in 2011, and took Citi’s Global ESG Research team to #1 ranked around the world in the Institutional Investor Survey.
His knowledge and experience have seen him advise countless institutional investors and CEO’s around the world on sustainability & finance, while in the public sector arena he has advised national policymakers around the world, from Presidents & Prime Ministers, through Central Banks, to Finance, Environment and Energy ministers. His insights and renown as a public speaker have led him to present to supranational organisations such as the IMF, the World Bank, the United Nations, development banks, many NGO’s, charities, and to institutions as diverse as NASA and the Vatican.
Jason’s publications, often written in collaboration with world-renowned academic institutions, span the entire breadth of the sustainability space, and are on the required reading lists for many academic institutions. Jason features widely in the international media in print, on-line, and on TV. He holds a degree in Engineering Science and Management from the University of Durham.
MATS PERSSON
MINISTER FOR EDUCATION
Mats Persson has served as the Minister for Education in Sweden’s Ministry of Education and Research since 2022. In his role, Minister Persson is responsible for research and higher education, including adult education, space issues and student finance among other areas of focus.
Prior to his current post, Mats served as the Group Leader, Liberal Parliamentary Secretariat, and was a Member of the Parliamentary Committees on Finance, Education and Taxation at various times between 2014 and 2022.
Minister Persson received a Doctor of Philosophy in Economic History degree from Lund University in 2015.

MANAGING DIRECTOR, AMCHAM SWEDEN
As the Managing Director of AmCham Sweden (American Chamber of Commerce in Sweden), Peter leads the organization's mission to foster and promote bilateral trade and investment between Sweden and the United States. He has a strong background in law, policy, and government relations, with a J.D. from The Catholic University of America and an LL.M. from Stockholm University.
Peter is passionate about fostering high-level business relationships with and between member companies and policymakers and providing advocacy, networking, and knowledge-sharing platforms for AmCham members. He also serves as an Executive Committee Member of the European Council of American Chambers of Commerce, representing the interests of more than 17,000 American and European companies.
In addition to Peter’s responsibilities with AmCham Sweden, he is a regular lecturer at the Stockholm University Law Faculty on the U.S. legislative process.
VIVEKA HIRDMAN-RYRBERG
CHAIR OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF MISUM
Viveka Hirdman-Ryrberg has deep experience in finance and banking and was instrumental in gearing up Investor AB’s sustainability work, not least in its capacity as an owner. Today, sustainability is a key strategic priority for Investor.
Prior to Investor, Viveka worked for nearly thirty years at SEB in a variety of senior executive roles, including serving as the Head of Corporate Communication & Marketing for the final 10 years. She was also a member of the Group Executive Committee and chaired SEB’s Group Sustainability Committee.
Today, Viveka is the Chair of Misum, a multi-disciplinary research center for sustainable markets at the Stockholm School of Economics, and is a member of the Advisory Committee of WISE (Wallenberg Initiative Materials Science for Sustainability).
