Focus Areas

AmCham Sweden is the only trade association in Sweden dedicated to advancing U.S.-Swedish trade and investment. We champion policies that drive competitiveness, innovation, and investment while advocating for smarter, more effective regulation. In 2025, we will focus on reinforcing AmCham’s role as the premier partner for businesses navigating the complexities of a rapidly changing global landscape.

The $8.7 trillion transatlantic economy stands as a pillar of resilience amidst global economic and strategic challenges, with the U.S. and Europe serving as each other’s most critical markets and geoeconomic partners. No other regions in the world share such a deeply integrated relationship. This strength is mirrored in the robust economic ties between Sweden and the United States, which supports 276,403 jobs—63,529 in Sweden supported by U.S. companies and 212,874 in the U.S. supported by Swedish companies. With mutual Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) totaling $154.4 billion—$60.3 billion from the U.S. in Sweden and $94.1 billion from Sweden in the U.S.—and thriving trade flows in goods and services, this relationship exemplifies the strength and depth of transatlantic cooperation.

As a cornerstone of the transatlantic business community, AmCham Sweden is uniquely positioned to strengthen collaboration between the U.S. and Sweden, shaping a competitive business environment that supports a thriving future for Sweden and its role in the EU. We guide our members through opportunities to influence and engage during economic shifts and technological transformations.

In this dynamic environment, shared values—democracy, the rule of law, and human rights—remain the foundation for innovation and investment. To stay competitive, we must break down barriers to progress, fostering resilience, preparedness, and growth. By helping to enhance supply chains and prioritizing critical areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), digital trade, and “friendshoring,” we open new avenues for business, enabling economic expansion and a stronger competitive edge for our members.
