Americans abroad town hall with congresswoman Carolyn Maloney

On September 20th, Representative Carolyn Maloney, current Chair of the House Americans Abroad Caucus, held a virtual Town Hall that was moderated by journalist Jim Bittermann, a longtime news correspondent stationed in Paris.

The program was promoted by the Association of Americans Resident Overseas (AARO).

The Town Hall provided a rare opportunity for Americans living abroad to interact directly with a member of the U.S. Congress. Attendees were encouraged to state their concerns, ask questions, and express their desire that Congress not only pay attention to issues impacting Americans abroad, but take them into account when drafting legislation as well as acting more broadly to address principal concerns.
