HARVARD BUSINESS REVIEW PRESS: THE UPSIDE OF UNCERTAINTY

  • American Chamber of Commerce in Sweden Stockholm Sweden (map)

Uncertainty is increasing. It's always been here but not like this, and it's not going away.

While part of our capacity to deal with the unknown is innate, a larger portion is learned. Those who develop this “uncertainty capability” are more creative, more successful, and better able to turn uncertainty into possibility.

When we reframe each uncertainty we encounter as possibility, we leap across or over from one thing to another. Since we are all experiencing uncertainty, possibility awaits all of us...we just have to grasp how to leap over to where it is.

Drawing on interviews with innovators, entrepreneurs, and artists, the author explores how to face the uncertainty that comes with new possibility and see the possibility hidden in any uncertainty.
