This Consumer Goods panel discussion will provide insights from industry experts and public representatives as they explain how progress in combating climate change can be achieved through the transfer of information and ideas across industries, governments, academia, and society.

For example, among other points of discussion, our panelists will touch upon the use of materials in consumer products, and how the packaging for food and beverages is also evolving to reduce the carbon footprint for both manufacturers and end-users alike

Our Distinguished Moderator :

Gerald Torres, Professor, Yale School of Environment and Yale Law School

Gerald Torres is a Professor of Environmental Justice at the Yale School of the Environment and Professor at Yale Law School. He is the former President of the Association of American Law Schools and has taught at Stanford and Harvard Law Schools. 

Professor Torres served as Counsel to the Attorney General on environmental matters and Indian affairs at the U.S. Department of Justice. Gerald served on the Board of the Environmental Law Institute, the EPA's National Environmental Justice Advisory Council, and was the founding chairman of the Advancement Project a leading racial justice organization. 

Professor Torres is board chair of EarthDay Network and a trustee of the Natural Resources Defense Council. He was a consultant to the United Nations on environmental matters. Torres is a life member of the American Law Institute and the Council on Foreign Relations.

Charlotte Kalin, Sweden Public Affairs and Sustainability Manager, Coca-Cola

Charlotte Kalin is the Public Affairs and Sustainability Manager for the Coca-Cola Company in Sweden. Charlotte has long experience in international trade, sustainability and business development from numerous leading roles with Swedish business associations and as an entrepreneur. 

Charlotte has headed international relations and public affairs for the Swedish Chambers and the largest business association, Swedish Enterprise. She was the EU head of the Transatlantic Business Dialogue, covering a broad range of regulatory and harmonization issues.

Elin Furelid, Director of Future Packaging, The Absolut Group

With over 15 years of experience in product strategy, innovation and design, Elin Furled has dedicated her career to creativity and positive change. In her previous role, Elin was responsible for all innovation for Absolut Vodka, Swedens’ largest food export.

In her current role as Director of Future Packaging at The Absolut Group, Elin works to drive positive change and innovative packaging solutions that consumers thirst for. Her passion for making an impact while maintaining brand excellence drives Elin to push the boundaries of design.

Tina Monk, EMEA Sustainability Manager & Country Governance Leader, 3M

In her role as Sustainability Manager in Europe, the Middle East and Africa for 3M, Tina Monk supports the organizations’ Business Groups within sustainability matters and drives its corporate sustainability initiatives.

Tina is very involved in the non-financial perspectives from local/EU and global legislation, reporting, and customer requirements/questionnaires. She has several years of experience in the Industrial and Health Care businesses, strong project management experience through Lean Six Sigma, and most recently, country governance in Denmark.
