How are the EU and U.S. collaborating on the Twin Transition (digitalization/sustainability)? What are the results of the EU-U.S. Task Force on the Inflation Reduction Act? What are current/future commitments to supply chains, clean energy, and Ukraine reconstruction?
On 1 February 2024, the EU Commission published its answer to the USA's IRA, in the form of the “Green Deal Industrial Plan.” Join us as we explore ways the U.S. and the EU can collaborate using the strong historical leadership Europe has shown in the sustainability segment of the Twin Transition while the US is currently leading on the digital innovation front. The Biden administration has continued Trump’s commitment to decoupling with China, an effort that will be more feasible as the IRA will force the reorganization of supply chains. Will this increase the EU’s competitiveness in relation to China? How can the U.S. and Europe partner to incentivize their respective markets and industries to innovate and build more cleantech solutions with the goal of securing an energy independent Europe and thus a more secure and sustainable world? What are the perspectives from business and industry on the EU-U.S. Task Force and its approach on the Twin Transition?
