COP26: transatlantic business committed to climate action

Starting today, COP26 will bring together world leaders, thousands of negotiators, government representatives, academics, businesses, and citizens to address the global climate agenda.

The American business community has come together in a joint statement to reaffirm our commitment to the goals of the conference and the emissions reductions targets set out by the Paris Agreement.

The joint statement emphasizes three key messages:

  1. U.S. businesses in Europe are committed to achieving the objectives of the Paris Agreement;

  2. Businesses are already playing a significant role in driving innovation towards low carbon technologies and will continue to do so; and

  3. International cooperation is essential and transatlantic partners have the potential to lead the global race to net zero.

The co-signatories know that only through cooperation and shared dialogue between all stakeholders can we achieve the carbon-neutral economy necessary to benefit the world today and for generations to come.
