European Union to Implement Entry-Exit System
In November, the European Union will put its Entry-Exit system into effect, as part of their goal to strengthen the management of their external borders. It will aid in the tracking of non-EU citizens entering and exiting the Schengen Area, while combating individuals who overstay their visas as well. As part of a broader EU digital security strategy that includes systems such as the ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System), SIS (Schengen Information System), and VIS (Visa Information System), the Entry-Exit System aims to enhance EU border security. This new system will replace manual passport stamping, and will require non-EU citizens to register biometric data upon entry.
Regardless of visa status, The Entry-Exit System will affect all non-EU citizens who are planning on traveling to the Schengen area.
