2024 ACE Best Practices Sharing Conference
The AmCham Best Practice Sharing Conference, held in Lisbon from September 24-26, 2024, brought together 56 participants from 31 AmChams in Europe. The first day featured an insightful Transatlantic Business Summit organized by AmCham Portugal, where Ajša Vodnik, Elias Spirtounias, Daniel Andrich, and our own Peter Dahlen participated in a panel discussion on cross-border challenges such as geopolitical issues, economic trends, technological innovation, U.S. relations, European investments, and free trade. The day concluded with a Gala Dinner at the Picadeiro Real with Fado and Aria performances. Antonio Martins da Costa, President of AmCham Portugal, and U.S. Economic Attaché Anna Margolis welcomed the group. The setting provided the perfect atmosphere for discussions about the future of transatlantic relations and the vital role that AmChams play in fostering cooperation between the U.S. and Europe.
The second day began with a warm welcome from ACE Chair Ajša Vodnik, followed by the annual AmCham Europe Benchmark Survey presentation by Elias Spirtounias, sparking lively debates about data analysis and future forecasts. During lunch at the scenic Museum of Electricity, Antonio Martins da Costa briefed the group on Portugal’s energy transition goals and the EDP Group’s role in achieving them. The afternoon featured breakout sessions focused on the ACE strategy, covering topics such as networking, best practice sharing, advocacy, and member empowerment. These sessions, facilitated by the ACE strategy team, yielded engaging discussions among AmCham leaders. The day ended with a visit to Guincho and Cascais, where participants enjoyed dinner.
On the third day, AmCham EU provided a morning session with updates from Brussels, followed by a productive ACE Board meeting. The day concluded at FLAD, where presentations showcased innovation from various AmChams.
We were pleased to participate in another successful ACE Best Practices conference, and AmCham Sweden would like to thank everybody who helped put this event together, as well as our fellow AmCham Europe members for a great program.
