LGBTQI Leadership and Inclusion in the Armed Forces and Defense Industry

The U.S. Embassy of Sweden, in partnership with the SGLCC and American Chamber of Commerce, is pleased to invite you to a seminar on leadership and the importance of role models for LGBTQI issues in the Armed Forces and in the defense industry. Lieutenant Colonel Bree Fram of the U.S. Space Force and a panel of distinguished speakers will discuss organizational challenges, the fight for policy changes, and the kind of leadership needed for successful and inclusive workplaces. 

Erik D. Ramanathan, U.S. Ambassador to the Kingdom of Sweden is an American attorney, philanthropist, and political fundraiser. Ramanathan earned a Bachelor of Arts in behavioral sciences and biology from John Hopkins University in 1991 and a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School in 1996. He was a leader among LGBT activists at Johns Hopkins.

Our Distinguished Speaker:

Bree Fram is the highest-ranking openly serving transgender member of the U.S. military. She is an astronautical engineer in the U.S. Space Force and is currently assigned to the Pentagon to lead space policy integration for the Department of the Air Force. Fram is also the president of SPARTA, an organization that educates and advocates about transgender military service, and supports transgender members of the military. She speaks frequently about transgender and diversity issues to military and public audiences.

Johanna Gustafsson is an experienced executive with a proven track record in business and strategy. With 25 years of experience from the Maritime, Aerospace, and Telecom industry, Johanna is passionate about Diversity & Inclusion and a strong advocate of value-based leadership and communication.
