Pål Jonson

Pål Jonson has served as the Minister for Defense of Sweden since 2022. He has been a member of the Riksdag since 2016 and previously chaired its Committee on Defense. With a background in security policy, he has served as Secretary-General of the Swedish Atlantic Council, Communications Director of the Swedish Security and Defense Industry Association, and a political advisor in the Ministry of Defense. He holds a Ph.D. in War Studies from King’s College London, a Master’s in European Policy from the College of Europe in Bruges, and a Bachelor’s in International Policy from Georgetown University.
